Describe your path to the pros.

I guess you could say that I was one of the fortunate ones who didn’t really experience a “path” to the pro ranks. I earned my pro card in my first drug-free bodybuilding show, and I didn’t even know what a pro card was at that time. Once competing at the pro level, my biggest challenge was the diet and finding what approach worked best for me, my health, and my lifestyle.

Which WNBF pro shows have you competed in?

WNBF Pro Masters 2014, 2013

WNBF Pro World 2014, 2013, 2006, 2005

WNBF Pro International 2007

What does being a WNBF pro mean to you?

I like the option of being able to choose which drug-free organizations I compete in and support. Very shortly after I rejoined the WNBF in 2013, the organization did away with its restriction regarding its athletes and where they can compete. I was glad to see that policy change. For me, it’s more about my pride in being a lifetime drug-free competitor and then showing my support of dedicated and competent promoters who provide the athletes a stage on which to compete.

Are you involved in any other parts of the sport?

I am a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym Bloomington, and I also instruct our land classes for the senior population there. I do help clients both locally and remotely who are interested in competing. I don’t like to call myself a coach, but rather, I like to be considered as a teacher. My goal is to help others learn how to educate themselves and to find the best and most healthy way for them to compete.

Which WNBF shows are you likely to attend?

No competitions this year

Will you be competing in the 2015 Worlds in Atlantic City?

No, this year is a much-needed year off! 🙂

What are your competitive goals?

As of now, I am enjoying my time off. I will wait to see what next year’s schedule holds in store for show locations. Competing has taken my family and me to various locations around the world that we otherwise would most likely not have chosen to visit. That has been a huge side benefit to competing. Hopefully next year’s schedule will have a couple of new fun spots to visit to help keep things fresh and exciting!
