WNBF Bodybuilding Pro Vic Cuzzupe

Describe your path to the pro ranks.

I started competing at 19 years old in 2006, in the early years I focused on “climbing the ranks” winning a Novice Overall in 2008 and my Junior Division in 2009 and 2011. Being in my early twenties, going pro was never an immediate goal. Long term, yes I wanted to be a pro, but I knew that my body wasn’t ready to compete at that level yet.

After 12 INBF shows in 7 years, 6 second place finishes and 2 Open Light Heavy division wins, I finally won back to back Men’s Bodybuilding Overall’s at The Granite State Open then at the INBF Monster Mash. It was certainly an emotional roller coaster coming so close so many times, to the ultimate goal of being a WNBF Pro Bodybuilder.

As a pro, I struggle with feeling good enough to step on stage. My fear is being a good amateur bodybuilder vs an average pro. I want to push my body to its natural limits and go into each show knowing that I am a better competitor than I was the last time I stepped on stage.

Which WNBF pro shows have you competed in?

In 2013 I had my Pro Debut at Worlds competing as a Middle Weight. This was special to me, as that year the show was held in my hometown of Boston Mass.

What does being a WNBF pro mean to you?

Being a WNBF Pro means I lineup with some of the best naturals in the world. This is something that I have been working towards since first picking up a weight at 14 years old. I grew up around Drug Free bodybuilding, as my father Paul was a successful competitor, promoter, judge and natural for life advocate throughout the 80’s and 90’s. My first time stepping on stage was at the age of 5 being a guest poser at the Yankee Classic, I guess one could say it’s in my blood. So, for me to be a WNBF Pro, is the “cherry on top.”

Are you involved in any other parts of the sport?

I am actively involved in the judging aspect of bodybuilding. Also, I have helped expedite at local shows.

Which WNBF amateur shows are you likely to attend?

I typically enjoy attending the NE Classic, INBF Monster Mash, The Granite State Open, Worlds and other New England based shows.

Will you be competing in the 2015 Worlds in Atlantic City?

Unfortunately, I will not be competing at the 2015 Worlds in Atlantic City. I wish the best to all who will be competing! I am certain it will be a large, competitive and successful show as it always is.

What are your competitive goals?

My competitive goals are to continue to work hard in the off-season, pay attention to areas of weakness and improve my physique. I look forward to selecting a couple shows for the 2016 season, after a few years have been taken to build my body. You cannot control who shows up to what show, but as long as I show up my best, then I will consider it a successful season.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
